ATEX electric strike

An ATEX electric strike is a special electric strike that is certified in accordance with the ATEX directive.
ATEX stands for “ATmosphères EXplosibles” and refers to the European Union’s Directive 2014/34/EU, which regulates the handling of potentially explosive atmospheres.

In areas where flammable substances such as gases, vapors, mists or dusts are present, there is a potential risk of explosion.
To ensure safety in such environments, electrical devices, including door openers, must meet special requirements.

The ATEX electric strike is designed and manufactured so that it can be used in such potentially explosive environments without being a source of ignition.
It is capable of opening the door automatically or facilitating the opening, thereby minimizing the risk of explosion. The need for manual door opening in hazardous areas is avoided.
